Support for carers

by Laura Johnston

Caring for someone can be an emotional rollercoaster that can trigger a range of emotions including isolation, guilt, loss and sadness.

Taking time to care for yourself can help, but when there is so much to manage, it is difficult to know what would help.  The main thing is, you are not alone and talking to other carers can help, as well as providing you with some ‘me time’ and practical tips.

A coffee morning carers group has been established in Stockbridge Village run by the local community with support, when required, from Healthwatch and the Carers Support Centre.  Advice is also available on respite support too.

The group meets every first and third Friday each month at 10am (until approximately 12 noon) at the Community Centre, Roughesdge House, Spruce Grove, Stockbridge Village, L28 1SY.

Everyone welcome to this drop-in event.

To find out more about the event, or if you require any carers information, please contact Reverend Thomson on 0151 228 7880.
