At the full council meeting on Wednesday 18 March, Superintendent Karl Baldwin was awarded a special Recognition of Contribution to the Borough.
Superintendent Baldwin has worked in Knowsley for over five years but has recently been promoted to Chief Superintendent and is leaving the borough for a new role.
Cllr Graham Morgan, Leader of Knowsley Council said:
“We express our sincere gratitude to someone who has played an invaluable role in the safety, stability, and wellbeing of our borough — Superintendent Karl Baldwin.
“For the past five years, Karl has served Knowsley with remarkable dedication. Policing a community isn’t just about enforcement, it’s about partnership, trust, and leadership. And over these years, you have embodied all three – and we thank you for that.
“You have led your teams with professionalism and integrity. You have worked alongside the Council, our communities, and our partners with openness and respect. And you have faced challenges – some predictable, many unexpected – with calm leadership and a solutions focused approach.
“Whether dealing with complex community safety issues, responding to moments of crisis, or supporting long term prevention work, you have always shown a deep understanding of Knowsley, its people, and its strengths. That commitment has not gone unnoticed. It has made a genuine and lasting difference.
“Your promotion to Chief Superintendent is a reflection of your talent, your hard work, and the respect you have earned across the region. While we are, of course, sad to see you go, we are also immensely proud to see you take this next step
