Still time to book free HAF activity sessions this summer

by Jonathan Kearney

FREE activity places are still available for children and young people across Knowsley as part of the summer Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme.

Organisations across the borough are offering a wide range of free activities, with a meal included as part of each session.

This week (Tuesday 26 July) Cllr Shelley Powell, Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods, visited an activity session hosted by Torrington Drive Community Association at Frensham Park in Halewood.

Children and young people in attendance had the opportunity to enjoy a range of activities, including archery, volleyball and crafts.

Adults in attendance were able to access financial advice from Knowsley Credit Union and hear about developing their skillset from Knowsley Family and Community Education (FACE).

Cllr Powell said: “These free sessions offer a fantastic opportunity for children and young people in Knowsley and a real plus to families at a time when the cost of living crisis is affecting so many. If you haven’t already done so I would urge people to take advantage of some of the free activities happening across the borough this summer.”

Thousands of free activity places are now available to book at venues across the borough.

You can find more information about the activity sessions on the One Knowsley website.
