Share memories and more at Cronton Back in The Day

by Emily Maguire

On Saturday 6 November a unique ’pop-up’ community archiving event will take place in Cronton at the Parish Council Office with support from The ARK: Archive Resource for Knowsley.

As part of preparations for Knowsley’s year as the Liverpool City Region Borough of Culture in 2022, residents are invited to come along and share memories, photos, and memorabilia relating to Cronton’s past Gala’s, Rose Queens, fetes, parades, street parties, scarecrow trails, Christmas festivities, folk traditions and more.

A selection of the items shared by the public at Cronton Back in the Day will be added to the Knowsley Archive for present and future generations to enjoy.

The event is free but places are limited and must be booked in advance. You can book you place online here or by calling 07413 479 454.

If you are unable to attend the event but would like to share articles or memories with the Culture Knowsley team, you can submit them by email to bea.anderton@knowsley.gov.uk

Alternatively you can post your submissions by recorded delivery to: Bea Anderton, Prescot Register Officer, 11, High Street, Prescot, L34 3LD

If you are submitting anything by post, please provide a return address and your contact details so that we can return your items to you.
