Safer Internet Day

by Alison Cornmell

On Tuesday 9 February, Knowsley Council joins Merseyside Police and supports Safer Internet Day, a national day organised by the UK Safer Internet Centre, that encourages people, especially young people and children, to use the internet and technology responsibly, respectfully, critically, and creatively.

From cyberbullying to social networking to digital identity, each year Safer Internet Day aims to raise awareness of emerging online issues and current concerns. This year’s theme is ‘An internet we trust – exploring reliability in the online world’ – the internet has an amazing range of information and opportunities online, but how do we separate fact from fiction?
