The Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013 introduced a change to the timing of full polling district and place reviews so that they should now take place every five years.
The Council’s Polling District Review Working Group, which leads on such reviews, meets each year to monitor polling districts and places, ensuring residents have the best facilities for voting. In line with legislation, and as the previous review was undertaken in 2019, a full review was undertaken between July and November 2024.
The focus of the review was specifically on polling districts and the location of polling places within the Borough.
Following the review, a recommendation has been agreed at Council today (22 January 2025) to:-
- relocate the polling place for the HY17 district of the Roby Ward from the Huyton Resource Centre for Older People to the RAFA Club at 6 Ellison Grove, Huyton, Knowsley L36 9GA with immediate effect.
- relocate the polling place for the PR04 district within the Prescot North Ward from the Salvation Army Church and Community Centre to Prescot Town Hall at 1 Warrington Road, Prescot, Knowsley L34 5QX with immediate effect.
All other polling districts and polling places within the Borough remain unchanged.
