Residents warned about energy efficiency cold-caller scam

by Jonathan Kearney

Knowsley residents are being warned about people falsely representing a company offering energy efficiency upgrades to their home.

Residents are encouraged to be vigilant if they receive cold calls from people claiming to represent a company called intuECO Ltd.

The cold callers may show an intuECO Ltd identification badge and be wearing a uniform bearing the company name. It is understood they offer free boilers as part of the ECO4 scheme.

Derby-based intuECO Ltd – a legitimate business – do not operate in Knowsley and they are being falsely represented by the individuals.

They may also claim to be working in partnership with Knowsley Council, which is untrue.

If you are a Knowsley resident and you have been contacted by an individual claiming to represent intuECO Ltd you are advised not to sign or complete any paperwork. Instead you should contact the Knowsley Council Trading Standards team via tradingstandardsteam@knowsley.gov.uk
