Balearic bar Urbano Chiringuito will be flying the flag for Prescot tomorrow (19 Nov) as it competes in the First Estrella Galicia National Beer Pouring Championships in London. Peter Stewart co-owner of Urbano Chiringuito will be taking part on behalf of the business, where his knowledge will be tested alongside his ability to pour the perfect beer.
Urbano Chiringuito has been specially invited to attend the event following a number of visits from industry mystery shoppers who were impressed by the beer pouring skills on display and rated the business highly.
Clare Wilson, co-owner of Urbano said: “We were absolutely thrilled to be invited to take part in this event, especially as we are only just coming up to our first full year of trading. Peter and I are passionate about what we do but still feel like we are learning all the time, so it is great to get some endorsement of our work and approach.
“It’s an honour to be invited to attend this national event – the competition will be stiff but I’m confident Peter knows his stuff and will give it his all. We will all be rooting for him and we know we have the support and good wishes of all our customers and business community in Prescot.”
Peter will be competing in the National Beer Pouring Championships taking place at the Tanner Warehouse in London on Tuesday 19 November. Participants will be tested on their knowledge of beer culture and their skills in pouring and presentation.
