Huyton with Roby Church of England School in Huyton, part of the Liverpool Diocesan Schools Trust, has received a positive Ofsted report with Inspectors noting that the school was at the expected standard for Achievement; Attendance and behaviour; Curriculum and teaching; Inclusion; Leadership and governance; and Personal development and wellbeing. Early years was highlighted as an area for improvement, which is being addressed by leaders who are working with the Trust to bring improvements.
Inspectors noted that:-
- Overall, pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, achieve well and are well prepared for the next stage of their education.
- Pupils build their knowledge across the curriculum well.
- Caring relationships are at the heart of this friendly, welcoming school. Pupils show respect for each other and for staff and visitors.
- Leaders quickly identify pupils’ needs and barriers to their learning, attendance and wellbeing. Leaders make sure that these pupils receive the support they need to flourish.
- Leaders prioritise pupils’ attendance. They take actions that lead to steady and sustained improvement in overall attendance rates.
- Leaders quickly identify pupils who need extra help with their learning. Well-established systems ensure that staff assess pupils’ needs swiftly and accurately.
- Those responsible for governance have a range of experience and skills which they use well to oversee leaders’ actions effectively.
- Leaders have established a well-designed programme to promote pupils’ personal development. This has been adapted to meet the needs of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
