The well-used Number 15 bus route in Huyton will be reinstated this week after work for complete emergency sewer repairs has been fast tracked. The Arriva bus service, which goes from/to Queens Square Bus Station in Liverpool to Huyton Town Centre, was rerouted last week as United Utilities made emergency sewer repairs on Western Avenue in Huyton.
Cllr Morgan, Leader of Knowsley Council said: “I was contacted by a number of local residents expressing their concern and frustration at the diversion of the Number 15 bus in Huyton. It’s an important route for local residents and, at this time of year in particular, is a really popular service.
“Initially we were told these the road closure could be in place for up to three weeks which was a concern. After speaking to council officers, they were able work with United Utilities to fast track the work and ensure essential repairs continued over the weekend. I am pleased to say that the sewer repairs have now been completed and – weather permitting – the road will be resurfaced this week. At that point Arriva will be able to reinstate the usual route.”
