Local pupil helps charity with own photography exhibition

by Laura Johnston

One inspirational Year 9 pupil from Lord Derby Academy, Kate Horne, has donated £200 worth of food to Knowsley Foodbank thanks to her charitable efforts and artistic talent.

As an aspiring photographer, Kate used her skills and aspiration for the benefit of others by displaying her work at an exhibition during a recent event at Lord Derby Academy.  Staff, Governors, pupils, parents and family members were able to buy their favourite piece in order to help raise money for Knowsley Foodbank, a fantastic cause.

In return, the money from Kate’s work has provided some of those who need support the most in our community with more than 80 breakfasts and 50 meals.

Well done Kate – what a kind and selfless thing to do! If Kate has inspired you to raise funds for Knowsley Foodbank or if you wish to donate what you can, visit The Big Help Project’s website to find out more about the cause and how you can help.
