Fun day supports a great cause

by Gemma Melling

Swimming, rowing and tennis will all be on offer at a Family Fun Day on Saturday, 3 September at David Lloyd, Arbour Lane, Kirkby.

There will be lots of activities, entertainment and prizes to keep the whole family entertained from 8.30am until late including a sponsored swim, 3 hour combat, rowing competition, tennis competition, football events organised by the Liverpool Football Club Academy, a junior disco, an evening race night, plus raffles, prizes and lots more!

The event has been organised to support the Owen McVeigh Foundation – a charity set up in memory of Owen McVeigh,  an 11-year-old boy who passed away after a short diagnosis with leukaemia. The purpose of the charity is to raise funds to help and enrich the lives of children who are ill with cancer and their families in Merseyside and the local area.

Regular updates will be available on the Owen McVeigh Foundation website.
