Over 60 apprenticeship roles available to young people in Knowsley

by Jonathan Kearney

Over 60 apprenticeships are currently available to people aged 16 – 24 as part of the Knowsley Apprentice programme.

Opportunities in trades, beauty, education and the leisure industry are among those available to applicants.

Many young people may have left full time education this year or be out of employment and be thinking about what to do next.

The apprenticeships enable young people to train to NVQ Level 3 while earning a living. Apprentices also have the opportunity to secure a permanent position at the end of the placement.

The majority of vacancies close on Monday 12 July, although you should check the individual roles for details.

Grants of £4,500 are available for businesses to hire an apprentice from Knowsley, aged between 16 and 24. The grants can only be accessed when hiring an apprentice from Knowsley.

The grant available to businesses – a 50% increase from 2019 – is to provide additional support to apprentices during the current restrictions.

Interviews for the vacancies will take place in August before the apprentices begin their new roles in September 2021.
