by Guy Murphy

Everyone aged 40 and over in England can now book their COVID-19 vaccinations.

Text messages will be sent to 40 and 41-year-olds inviting them to book their vaccine as the total number of first doses given reaches 34 million or around two thirds of the adult population.

This latest announcement come only a few days after over 42s were invited to book their appointment.

Appointments can be made by visiting www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination. People who cannot access the booking service online can call the service on 119 to book a vaccination appointment.

The Government plans to offer a first vaccine dose to the rest of the adult population by the end of July.
