Knowsley Central School in Huyton has retained its ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating following a recent inspection.
Inspectors concluded that pupils benefit from an exceptional standard of education at the school, with parents and carers referring to the school as being ‘life-changing’.
Knowsley Central pupils are well prepared for the future
Pupils benefit from an exciting, ambitious and well-designed curriculum which promotes pupils’ life skills, which prepares them well for their future.
Wider curriculum activities are also well planned, enriching pupils’ development. This includes residential trips helping pupils’ to develop their independence and resilience, as well as being able to work as part of a team.
Pupils are supported to read by ‘highly skilled staff’ resulting in pupils achieving well and becoming fluent and confident readers.
A rewarding, enjoyable education
Pupil behaviour around the school was also commended by Inspectors who described it as ‘excellent’.
Leadership at the school was also reviewed with Inspectors noting that leaders reflect regularly on all aspects of the school, ensuring that every pupil has a highly positive, rewarding and enjoyable education. Leaders ensure that staff understand the needs of pupils with Special Educational Need and / or Disabilities (SEND) and how best to support them.
School leaders, governors and staff work well together for the best possible quality of education.
