Online mental health service is a success

by Laura Johnston

Young people in Knowsley can receive free counselling and emotional wellbeing support with Kooth, a service commissioned by Knowsley last year.

The website gives young people aged 10 to 19 the opportunity to talk to someone about their worries anonymously and access self-help materials for free.

More than 90,000 people registered last year, a 71% increase from 2017, and 95% of these people would recommend the service.

Users have been receiving help for a range of issues including anxiety, stress, and confidence, and setting goals such as overcoming anxiety and practicing self-care. Qualified counsellors can help users to achieve these goals with one-to-one online therapy sessions

If you would like to chat to a friendly counsellor or use the support features the Kooth service offers, log onto to kooth.com between Monday and Friday from 12pm to 10pm, or Saturdays and Sundays between 6pm and 10pm
