Northwood Pop Up Boutique

by Laura Johnston

If you have any unwanted clothes you want to swap or give a new lease of life to, then come along to the latest Pop Up Boutique at Northwood Community Centre in Kirkby.

The next event is on Saturday 5 October from 11am to 2pm, offers you the chance to bring along your unwanted clothes, books and toys and take home some you’ll love, all absolutely free!

There’s also a repair clinic with sewing machines where you can learn to fix or alter your clothes. Other family friendly activities include craft activities for children and adults, use of an outdoor play area – weather permitting – and the Community Café based at the centre offers delicious, home-cooked lunch, as well as tea, coffee and cakes.

The Pop Up events happen on the first Saturday of every month up to March 2020 – with no event in January.
The project, run by charity Faiths for Change, is backed by Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority’s Community Fund and is focused on positive community action around reducing waste in Northwood.

And for anyone wanting to get involved, there’s a live recycling guide where people can post tips, ideas, swap requests, videos and more. It’s open to all Northwood residents, visit Green Up Northwood on Facebook.
