NHS Cadets programme for Knowsley teenagers

by Cathy Sheel

Teenagers have an opportunity to try out roles in health and social care by joining the NHS Cadets programme.

The NHS Cadets programme, run locally by Wirral Community Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust (WCHC), gives Knowsley young people, aged 16-18, a flavour of what it is like to volunteer and work in the NHS.

As well as offering teenagers vital hands-on experience of working in health and care settings, the 12-month programme gives them the confidence and tools they need to develop and prepare for life.

The programme, run in partnership with The Hive, Vibe and St John Ambulance, provides young people with courses to develop their leadership skills, first aid awareness and volunteering opportunities in the NHS.

Young people can register their interest for the NHS Cadets Programme in Knowsley by visiting the St John Ambulance website.
