New tapas restaurant for Huyton Village Centre

by Gemma Melling

Following the success of Mediterranean restaurant Eton Place in Huyton Village Centre, the owner is expanding further with work underway on a new tapas restaurant opposite Eton Place.

Work has started on El Pueblo (a Spanish name which translates in English to “The Village”) which will occupy 60-66a on Derby Road.  This new food and drink outlet will offer tapas and craft ales and gin.

It is expected to open in the autumn and will complement the other businesses that have opened or are planning to open in the village centre.  Alongside Huyton Live, these developments are starting to bring to life the evening economy in Huyton Village Centre.

Eton Place restaurant owner, Turgut Olgun, said: “I’m really looking forward to opening El Pueblo in Huyton. Since opening Eton Place, I’ve had a really warm welcome from retailers, residents and shoppers and I look forward to providing them with even more choice in Huyton Village Centre.”

Cllr Tony Brennan, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, added “I’m delighted that Turgut had decided to expand his food and drink offering here in Huyton.  El Pueblo will provide another cuisine catering for even more people to come into the Village Centre. I look forward to visiting his new establishment later this year.”

Further updates about the opening will be published here on Knowsley News when confirmed.
