A new restaurant – Casa Rima – has opened its doors on Baileys Lane in Halewood.
The restaurant offers Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine in the unit previously occupied by William Hill bookmakers, following extensive refurbishment and an extension of the property.
Casa Rima welcomed the Mayor (Cllr Eddie Connor) and Mayoress (Sue Connor) of Knowsley, Cllr Graham Morgan, Leader of Knowsley Council and Cllr Shelley Powell, Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods during its opening weekend.
The restaurant offers a fantastic variety of dishes, including delicious, chargrilled meats and pizzas made from scratch on site. The venue also boasts an extensive wine and cocktail menu.
Casa Rima can accommodate up to 100 diners, indoors and outdoors, and features a private function room that can also be booked during the day for business meetings.
Owner Baris Coskuncay already runs a successful restaurant – Casa Roni – on Mather Avenue in Allerton. He said: “We get a lot of customers from Halewood travelling to our restaurant in Allerton, so we know there is lots of demand in Halewood. Halewood is a large town with a growing population but not many places for people to eat out locally, so it made perfect sense for us – especially with all the new investment coming into Halewood. We are really excited about our new venture and have already welcomed lots of residents through the doors on opening weekend.”
Cllr Graham Morgan, Leader of Knowsley Council, said: “We are delighted to welcome Baris and Casa Rima to Halewood and judging by the opening weekend I am sure it’s going to be a popular venue. We know from talking to residents that they want to be able to eat out locally and I’m sure with the investment in Halewood this will be the first of many new restaurants to arrive in the coming years.”
In addition to the 1,300 new homes currently being built in Halewood as part of the East of Halewood development, the town is also set to benefit from over £30 million of further investment in the coming years. This will help to support the expansion of the town’s retail offer, provide new and improved sports and leisure facilities, enhancements to green spaces, increased primary school capacity and early years childcare, provide new and enhanced walking and cycling routes and improve local roads and infrastructure.
Knowsley Council conducted a consultation with residents, businesses, visitors and other stakeholders in Halewood just prior to Christmas 2022 and has since been developing more detailed investment plans for the town. Further consultation will take place on these plans in the near future.
