New Knowsley Library Service website

by Laura Johnston

Knowsley Library Service has a new and improved website – making it easier than ever to navigate your way around the site and straight to the information that you want.

With a colourful and eye-catching design featuring images from all Knowsley libraries, the website has been improved and updated to make the online functions simpler and easier to use. It’s also mobile friendly so you’ll find it convenient and straightforward to use whether you’re on a smartphone, tablet or computer.

Cllr Shelley Powell, Cabinet Member for Public Health, Wellbeing and Customer Services, said:

“The Library Service has lots on offer for the whole family and the new website is a fantastic way to get even more out of your library with so much now available on the user friendly site.”

“You may never have stepped foot inside your local branch but now through the new website you can access free of charge; eBooks, online courses, trusted information sources and popular resources – as well as all you would expect from your local library such as reading recommendations, latest releases and reference resources, including familiar titles from respected publisher Oxford University Press.

“It’s also much easier to find out about activities, courses and events in the libraries and to join a range of community groups as part of a healthier and happier lifestyle.”

“Discover all this and more for yourself by visiting: http://www.yourlibrary.knowsley.gov.uk/.”

eBooks are easier than ever to borrow

It’s simpler than ever to search the online library catalogue 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Browse through hundreds of titles, including fiction and non-fiction for adults, teenagers and children, and make your selection from the library of downloadable eBooks.

To start borrowing eBooks all you need is a library membership number and PIN and you can now apply for these via the new website.

Information at your fingertips

New releases, most popular reads and reading recommendations are all now at your fingertips.

It’s easy to find out about the many popular activities available in Knowsley’s libraries. Days and times are provided on the website for reading groups, adult learning sessions, children’s school holiday activities as well as story, rhyme and play sessions for pre-school children to mention but a few.

All users have access to fantastic resources including the popular Theory Test Pro – providing an online simulation of the UK’s driving theory test using material from the Driving Standard Agency, the people who set the tests.

Which? the consumer experts and Ancestry Library – providing access to billions of records from the UK, North America, Europe, Australia, and more are also available to members via library computers.
