A new COVID-19 testing site is set to open in Stockbridge Village from Thursday 19 November, making it easier for people in the area to take a coronavirus test.
The site will be located in the carpark at Stockbridge Village Neighbourhood Centre, The Withens and this site can be accessed on foot so it’s not a drive-through facility. An appointment needs to be made in advance.
The testing site will have the capacity to carry out 180 tests per day which provides a significant boost to Knowsley’s testing programme and supplements the current existing Local, Regional and Mobile Testing Units.
The testing site will initially open on reduced hours before moving to a seven-day testing programme from 8am to 8pm once fully operational.
Testing site opening times:
19 November – 2pm to 5pm
20 November – 10am to 5pm
21 November onwards – 8am -8pm
The site at Stockbridge Village will open up testing for those in the local community who do not have access to a car or should not be using public transport because they have symptoms.
If you have a high temperature, new / persistent cough or a loss of taste or smell, you should stay at home and book a test. Tests are carried out by appointment only and these can be booked online through www.nhs.uk/coronavirus or by ringing 119.
Once you have took your test, please ensure that you follow isolation guidelines and return straight home.
Cllr Sean Donnelly, Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care, said: “We have been working closely with our partners to continue to improve access to testing facilities for people across Knowsley.
“The new site at Stockbridge Village will further open up testing for local residents and those who are unable to access our sites in Kirkby and Huyton.
“I would encourage anyone who experiences symptoms to book a test and, if positive, to engage with Track & Trace.”
The local test site at Stockbridge Village is the third local test site in Knowsley – the other sites are in Huyton and Kirkby.
