A number of Knowsley Council’s front line neighbourhood services have achieved the prestigious ISO9001:2015 quality standard.
The council successfully retained the accreditation following a rigorous three day audit of its front line services in Street Scene, Waste Management, Parks, Fleet Management, School Meals and Building Cleaning. The audit, which was conducted remotely due to Covid 19, also included a review of the council’s ‘back office’ management systems.
Despite the continued lockdown, all of these services continue to operate and evidence was provided by video and photographs which ensured the services passed the annual inspection without any areas for improvement being identified.
ISO 9001 is the internationally recognized Quality Management System (QMS) standard which enables organisations to demonstrate they can consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Cllr Shelley Powell, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods said: “We continue to be one of the only authorities locally to hold the prestigious ISO9001:2015 quality standard for a wide range of our neighbourhood front line services.
“Feedback from the inspectors was incredibly positive and included praise for the manner in which all of our services have responded to the challenge of COVID-19 and continued to deliver key frontline operations. This a great achievement, and testament to the teams’ ongoing commitment to deliver high quality services to our communities.”
