A sell out crowd enjoyed an open-air performance of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing at Knowsley Hall last night (Thursday, 11 August).
Despite a slight chill in the summer air, the rain stayed away and the audience enjoyed picnics in the sumptuous surroundings of the walled garden before enjoying the production, performed by the renowned Lord Chamberlain’s Men.
Feedback from the event was extremely positive, with many people taking to social media to praise the show, the venue and the organisers – and to share their photographs from the evening.

The sold out show was one of the many ways in which Knowsley has marked the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death this year.
And, of course, local audiences have a lot to look forward to – with the Shakespearean theatre that is planned for Prescot on the horizon.
