MADE to be MUM opens in Kirkby

by Lisa Bennett

A new children’s play café has opened today (19 June 2025) in Kirkby town centre.

MADE to be MUM is located at St Chad’s Parade (Unit 18) and offers a play area on the ground floor where children are entertained whilst parents / carers can grab a coffee and a light bite in the café area.

In addition, the upper floor will host a range of workshops for parents / carers, including pregnancy yoga, hypnobirthing, baby sensory and meditation. The timetable is currently being finalised so keep a look-out on socials for the latest updates on the events and workshops programme.

MADE to be MUM will be open from 9.30am until 3.30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

MADE to be MUM is the idea of Kirkby resident and mum of three Sam. Sam said “I’m delighted to be opening my new offer in Kirkby.

“Being a mum of three myself, I know that you need a safe space where you go let your children play whilst catching up with friends and family or just enjoying a sit down with a cuppa and a light bite.

“It’s much more than a play café and I look forward to sharing my workshops and events programme shortly. Hopefully everyone will enjoy what I’ve created.”

Cllr Tony Brennan, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, added “It’s great to see MADE to be MUM opening their doors in Kirkby today.

“I’m sure it will be a popular venue for residents and visitors alike and I wish Sam the very best of luck with her new venture.”
