A new children’s play café is coming to Kirkby.
Located at St Chad’s Parade (Unit 18) in the town centre, MADE to be MUM offers a play area on the ground floor where children are entertained whilst parents / carers can grab a coffee and a light bite in the café area.
In addition, the upper floor will host a range of workshops for parents / carers, including pregnancy yoga, hypnobirthing, baby sensory and meditation.
MADE to be MUM is the idea of Kirkby resident and mum of three Sam. Sam said “I’ve got three children under the age of four – all at different phases of their development and I know from my own experience that you need a safe space where you go let your children play whilst catching up with friends and family or just enjoying a sit down with a cuppa and a light bite.
“I wanted to ensure that other parents and carers had somewhere they can go in their local community so I created MADE to be MUM from my own experiences and needs and I hope that others come along and enjoy what I’ve created.”
“MADE to be MUM is so much more than a play café – it offers something for everyone – mums, dads, grandparents, carers and children.
“I’m really excited to be opening my doors over the coming weeks to share my offer with others.“
Cllr Tony Brennan, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, added “I’m delighted to welcome Sam and MADE to be MUM to Kirkby. We know that Kirkby is a great location for business and I wish Sam the very best of luck with her new venture.”
MADE to be MUM will be opening its doors over the coming weeks – a further update will be shared once the opening hours and workshop timetable has been confirmed.
