This Love Parks Week we’re celebrating Knowsley’s parks and green spaces which have successfully retained their prestigious Green Flag awards.
An impressive 19 Knowsley parks have received Green Flag status – the international quality mark for parks and green spaces.
After two years that have seen our parks and green spaces play a vital role as places for people to relax, exercise and meet friends and family safely through lockdowns, the news that Knowsley’s parks have retained their Green Flag Awards is testament to the hard work and dedication of the teams that make the green space a great space for everyone to enjoy.
Knowsley’s Green Flag parks are:

- Court Farm Woods, Halewood
- Court Hey Park, Huyton
- Eaton Street Recreation Ground, Prescot
- Fox’s Bank Lane Cemetery and Memorial Gardens
- Halewood Park
- Henley Park, Whiston
- Jubilee Park, Huyton
- King George V Playing Fields
- Huyton, King George V Playing Fields (Brown Field), Prescot
- Little Wood, Stockbridge
- McGoldrick Park, Huyton
- Millbrook Park Millennium Green, Kirkby
- Prescot / St. Mary’s Cemetery
- Sawpit Park, Huyton
- St Chad’s Gardens, Kirkby
- Ten Acre Pits, Huyton
- The Pasture, Cronton
- Webster Park, Kirkby
Cllr Shelley Powell, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods said: “We are delighted that our 19 parks have retained their Green Flag status as we know the importance of high-quality green spaces for our communities. These green flag awards are testament to all the hard work of staff and volunteers, who do so much to ensure that they maintain the high standards demanded by the Green Flag Award.”
The Green Flag Award scheme, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under licence from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of green spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.
