The long-awaited Monkey Town Kirkby will officially open its doors to local families on Sunday 18 October, bringing a brand-new 16,000sqft indoor play centre to Cherryfield Drive, directly opposite Kirkby Bus Station. The new venue has been created to give children of all ages a safe, exciting and active place to play whatever the weather, with unlimited playtime, free admission for accompanying adults and a wide range of adventure and interactive attractions.
Far more than a traditional soft-play centre, Monkey Town Kirkby will combine large-scale physical play with immersive technology. At its heart will be a huge, multi-level, jungle-themed adventure structure for children aged three and over, packed with racing, spiral and Astra slides, climbing nets, monkey bars, bridges, balance challenges, bash bags and obstacle trails. A large, colourful Climbing Volcano will give children another opportunity to test their skills, strength, coordination and confidence.

Younger visitors will have their own dedicated under-threes’ area, specially designed for babies and toddlers. The safe, age-appropriate space will include gentle slides, themed rockers, soft-play shapes, stepping drums and sensory activities.
The centre will also introduce several interactive attractions, including a colourful Pixel Floor featuring fast-paced digital games that encourage movement, teamwork and quick reactions. Children aged four and over can explore and compete in Laser Town, an immersive laser-play experience included within the standard admission price.

A modern interactive ball pool will allow children to throw balls at a large digital screen to play different games and complete challenges. There will also be a spacious enclosed sports pitch with football markings and interactive target games for energetic individual and team play.
Josh Buxton, UK Country Director for 24 Indoor, said:
“We know there has been a great deal of anticipation around the opening of Monkey Town Kirkby, so we are delighted to finally confirm that we will be welcoming families from Sunday 18 October. We have created much more than a traditional soft-play centre, combining a huge multi-level play structure with exciting interactive attractions including Laser Town, the Pixel Floor and our interactive ball pool. With unlimited playtime and free entry for adults, we want families to be able to relax, stay and enjoy the experience without watching the clock. We are incredibly excited to become part of the Kirkby community.”
Parents and carers will be able to relax in the centre’s spacious café seating area while remaining close to the action.
Birthday parties at Monkey Town Kirkby are already available to book through the website. Families can choose from Standard and Deluxe packages, which include two hours of indoor play, a reserved party table, food and unlimited drinks. The Deluxe package also includes additional treats and surprises to make the celebration even more special.
Regular visitors will be able to purchase a flexible 10-Play Session Card, offering better value than paying separately for each visit. The card can be shared between family and friends.
