The last result in today’s Borough Elections has been declared.

The Liberal Democrats have hung on two both seats in Prescot North, with Ian Smith elected for another term in office and Mark Burke taking the seat left vacant by the resignation of Carl Cashman earlier in the year.

The results in full were:

  • Mark Joseph Burke (Liberal Democrats): 1128
  • Tommy Grierson (Labour Party): 1008
  • Peter Stanley Leadbeater (Conservative Party Candidate): 117
  • Gary Eric See (Labour Party): 898
  • Ian Smith (Liberal Democrats): 1054

The turnout in this ward was 25.3%.

Counters are now having half an hour break before counting commences for the Town and Parish elections.

It’s a Green Party gain in the Roby ward, with Paul Woodruff taking the seat from Labour’s Hugh Malone.

Page Moss ward is held by Labour with Del Arnall winning another term of office.

Another change of hands as St Gabriel’s is won by the Greens, taking the seat from Labour.

The results in full were:

  • Jo Schumacher (Labour Party): 825

The turnout in this ward was 25.9%.

Mike Kearns of the Labour Party holds on to his seat in St Michael’s ward, in Huyton.

The results in full were:

  • Mike Kearns (Labour Party): 1164
  • James Brian Taylor (Green Party Candidate): 324

The turnout in this ward was 21.0%.

Meanwhile, Chris Bannon has won back her seat in Swanside ward – so another Labour hold.

The results in full were:

  • Chris Bannon (Labour Party): 1606
  • Graham Clifford Wickens (Green Party Candidate): 373

The turnout in this ward was 26.1%.

Another result just in, and we have the first seat to change hands in this year’s borough elections. Whitefield in Kirkby, which was held by Independent John Morgan, has been taken by Gary Bennett of the Labour Party.

The results in full were:

  • Gary Paul Bennett (Labour Party): 1062
  • Christine Joanne Marie Dillon (Freedom Alliance, Stop the Great Reset): 45
  • John Joseph Morgan (Independent): 916

The turnout in this ward was 25.3%.

So far, it means Labour have gained one seat, but no other political changes yet.

Independent candidate Barbara Dunn retains her seat in the Halewood South ward.

Halewood North have returned Labour’s Shelley Powell for another term of office.

The turnout in this ward was 24.1%

Northwood ward in Kirkby have also declared. Labour hold this seat too, with Marie Stuart the winner.

The results in full were:

The turnout in this ward was 16.7%.

Prescot South sees the Green Party hold another seat, with Joanne Burke re-elected.

Meanwhile, Labour have held Cherryfield Ward in Kirkby, with Jayne Aston being returned to the seat.

In Stockbridge ward, there’s another Labour hold with John Donnelly holding onto his seat.

The turnout in this ward was 15.6%.

Next up, the closest result so far. The Green Party hold Whiston and Cronton ward by 79 votes, and Ron Gaffney is returned for another term.
