Local children celebrate Harvest Festival

by Laura Johnston

Children at St Mary & St Paul’s C of E Primary School in Prescot supported a worthy charity at their recent Harvest Festival, a celebration of the food grown around this time of year.

Children from every class at the school helped lead the service at St Paul’s Church in Prescot where their family joined them to celebrate the Harvest Festival.

The children showed great generosity and kindness by donating tinned and packaged food for Ravenhead Foyer in St Helens, a charity that supports young people living in poverty.

Paul Brooksbank, Acting Headteacher at St Mary & Paul’s C of E Primary School, said: “It was lovely to see so many people at church. Thanks to everyone who donated tins and packets of food. It was amazing to see how much food the children collected.”
