Pupils from St Margaret Mary’s Catholic Infant School taking part in a litter pick

Knowsley Council is inviting primary school children in the borough to enter our new litter poster competition!

We want children in the borough aged 4-11 to design a poster that helps encourage people to put their litter in a bin and keep Knowsley clean and tidy.

The competition winner will receive a £25 art/eco kit and an entry for their school to sign up to the Eco-Schools Green Flag programme (worth £250). The winning submission will be made into a poster to raise awareness of littering across the borough.

Poster requirements

  • Size – A4 paper
  • Materials – Use crayons, coloured pencils, paints or markers
  • Message – include a clear anti-litter message, like a slogan
  • Ideas for images – Drawings of bins, litter, parks, wildlife and people cleaning up
  • Original work – designs must be created by primary school children aged between 4-11
  • Theme – your poster should show why littering is bad and encourage everyone to take pride in keeping our community clean.

Deadline

All entries must be submitted by Friday 25 April 2025.

How to submit

Please include the pupil’s name, age, school and a contact number on the back of the poster.
