Lindsey’s Art Shed now open in Kirkby!

by Gemma Melling

Lindsey’s Art Shed has opened its doors in Kirkby town centre, operating from a kiosk on St Chad’s Drive in the heart of the town centre.

Owner and artist Lindsey Jones lives and works in Kirkby and turned her love of art into a way to inspire people of all ages.

Lindsey started drawing whilst serving in Afghanistan as a frontline medic, then carried it on and completed her masters in illustration last year.  Lindsey’s Art Shed is:-

  • A creative hub for everyone in the community
  • A welcoming space where children and adults can learn, explore, and express themselves
  • A supportive environment that builds confidence, social skills, and imagination
  • A place to discover new techniques through fun, hands-on art experiences

From watercolour classes for adults to after-school art courses for children – the possibilities are endless and there’s something for everyone.

Lindsey said: “I’ve always loved art and being able to share my skills, knowledge and passion with others in the town where I live is truly amazing.

“I offer creative hands-on sessions for people of all ages, provide a space for learners to explore ideas and develop their creativity and help to develop social skills through collaboration, communication and a shared interest and love for art.

I’m really grateful for the support Knowsley Council has given me, helping me to turn my vision into reality.”

As well as a range of classes, Lindsey’s Art Shed also offers and after school club during term-time with a range of activities for children of all ages. Over the course of the term, children explore new techniques, build confidence, and create a collection of work they can be proud of. At the end of each term, we celebrate their achievements with a special exhibition for your child and your family to enjoy.

Cllr Tony Brennan, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, added: “I’m delighted to welcome Lindsey and Lindsey’s Art Shed to Kirkby town centre.

“She offers such a broad range of classes and sessions, ensuring there is something for everyone.

“Lindsey’s Art Shed is a very welcome addition to the town centre and I wish her well with her venture.”
