Knowsley’s Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) has been shortlisted in the prestigious Cheshire and Merseyside Social Work Teaching Partnership Awards, celebrating excellence in social work.
The MASH is the first point of contact for professional and / or the public to raise concerns regarding the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable children and adults who may be at risk of harm and require support and / or protection.
It consists of representatives from Knowsley Council, Merseyside Police, health, education and housing.
The team has been shortlisted for the ‘Outstanding contribution to the Social Work sector’. This award is open to qualified and non-qualified workers who have developed a career in the social work sector and have become inspirational role models for the profession.
Cllr Margaret Harvey, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said
“This is a fantastic achievement for the team, to be shortlisted for the work they do in the social work sector. Good luck!”
The awards aim to recognise the work of social workers, promote best practice in the professional, improve understanding of the range of work undertaken by social works and celebrate and promote diversity and equal opportunities in social care.
Representatives will attend the Awards Ceremony on Thursday 19 March 2020 when the winners will be announced.
