Knowsley school admissions deadlines and information
Parents and carers can now apply for primary school and secondary school places for September 2024 intake.
This is an important time for families as decisions are being made around the education of your child in 2024. During the autumn, Knowsley parents and carers will have to make decisions about their school preferences and can apply for up to three schools for their child.
How to choose a school
Parents and carers are encouraged to go and see for yourself all the opportunities Knowsley schools can offer.
Head teachers and staff will be delighted to meet with you and show how pupils are benefiting from the high standards of teaching and learning delivered across the primary curriculum. All staff wish to work in partnership with you and provide your child with the best possible education. Our schools are committed to helping children reach their potential, whatever their race, sex, religion or disability.

Parents of preschool children
If your child’s date of birth falls on or between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020, now is the time to apply for reception class place in school for September 2024.
There is no automatic transfer from nursery – everyone must apply between 12 September 2023 and 15 January 2024 by completing the application form of the Local Authority in which you live.

Parents of year 6 children
If your child is currently in year 6 of primary school or their date of birth falls on or between 1 September 2012 and 31 August 2013, now is the time to apply for a year 7 secondary school place for September 2024.
There is no automatic transfer – everyone must apply between 12 September 2023 and 31 October 2023 by completing the application form of the Local Authority in which you live.
Closing date: 31 October 2023
