Knowsley Flower Show and Feelgood Festival 2020 cancelled

by Laura Johnston

During this unprecedented time the Council, and the whole community, is following the Government and Public Health England’s guidance to help contain the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

As a result, Council resources have been refocussed to concentrate on providing essential support and services for residents and businesses – especially the most vulnerable members of the community.

For this reason, the Council has made the decision to cancel this years’ Feelgood Festival (8 August) and Knowsley Flower Show (9 August).

Cllr Shelley Powell, Knowsley Council’s Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods and Communities commented:

“Given the current circumstances we have had to take the inevitable decision to cancel our two biggest community events for this year. The Flower Show and Feelgood Festival are a highlight of summer and would not be possible without all partners, sponsors, supporters, volunteers, services and performers.

The team work and collaboration that goes into both these events is what helps to make them so successful. Therefore I am sure everyone, although disappointed, will understand that at this time our collective efforts really need to focus on helping those in need.

We look forward to coming together again very soon and welcoming everyone back to these special events in 2021.”
