Satisfied learners in Knowsley

Knowsley Council’s Family And Community Education service (FACE) has been ranked third nationally for learner satisfaction.

The results from the 2016/17 Skills Funding Agency learner satisfaction survey have been published today which places the Knowsley service third out of 199 other local authority, higher education and other government providers across the country in terms of level of satisfaction.  In addition, FACE also appears in the top 20 list when competing with private sector providers too.

The survey asks a series of questions relating to the quality of teaching, respect and the way learners are treated, advice given after a course, support throughout a course, how a provider responds to the views of learners, whether a course is meeting expectations and whether a provider would be recommended to family and friends.

The survey is an opportunity for existing learners to rate their learning or training. This helps future learners make informed choices about where to study or train.

Cllr Joan Lilly, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said “This is a fantastic achievement for our trainers and learners alike. Ofsted rated the service as ‘good’ last year, but for learners to endorse the quality of their learning through this satisfaction survey, is a great testament to the service. FACE offer a fantastic range of learning opportunities to suit everyone – from a vast array of courses and accreditations through to flexibility on when and where you learn – there really is something for everyone!  I’d encourage everyone to take a look at what FACE has to offer.”

FACE provides a range of learning opportunities – from Maths, English, and IT skills through to Counselling, Psychology, Languages, Photography, Cake Decorating and Flower Arranging.  Courses take place in over 40 locations across the borough and some are free of charge to attend.
