Knowsley Council Support Business Expansion

by Lisa Bennett

Equipmart Limited is a leading provider of high-quality cleaning equipment and supplies for commercial, industrial and domestic customers.

Based on Knowsley Business Park, the family run business started in the 1970s and due to recent and continuing growth, it needed to significantly improve the older parts of its site.

With support from Knowsley Council’s Business Growth Team the business applied for a Knowsley Investment Grant, which enabled it to create a new showroom, a modern office space and improved staff welfare facilities.

The new showroom allows direct sales to local customers and provides a space to display and demonstrate products.

Councillor Tony Brennan, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, visited the operation to meet the Equipmart team and see first-hand how the business has modernised.

Cllr Brennan commented: “It’s great to see a three-generation family business thriving and adapting to the modern way of connecting with customers.  I am delighted that the council was able to support the refurbishment of their headquarters, which will create further job opportunities for local residents.”

Jonathan Paxton, Managing Director of Equipmart Ltd said: “We were thrilled to host Councillor Brennan’s recent visit to equip2clean. We had the privilege of showcasing our remarkable progress and growth throughout the past year.  Knowsley Council’s continued support and guidance have been invaluable in shaping our thriving company.”

The Knowsley Investment Grant is designed to help growing businesses make improvements to commercial premises and create jobs.
