Cllr David Lonergan, Knowsley Council’s Cabinet Member for Children, said: “This is a fantastic event for young people, parents and carers to find out about the wide range of opportunities available for those with SEND post 16 years of age.
“We want to ensure that everyone has access to training, support and education that can give them the best possible start in adulthood”
Cllr Joanne Kennedy, Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet Member for Employment, Educational Attainment & Skills, said:
“This event is a wonderful opportunity for young people with SEND and their families to explore the many inspiring pathways available as they prepare for adulthood. Every young person deserves the chance to develop their talents, gain confidence and move towards meaningful employment or further study.
“By bringing together colleges, employers and specialist services under one roof, we are making it easier for families to get the information and support they need. I’m delighted that Liverpool and Knowsley are working together to provide this inclusive and welcoming event, and I would encourage as many young people as possible to come along.”
The event is funded by the Knowsley Youth Transformation Pilot.
Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
