Knowsley Better Together recognised for national award

by Jonathan Kearney

Knowsley Better Together and the supporting journey has been nominated for a national award.

Knowsley Better Together brings people and organisations together for the benefit of the borough and its residents.

It is based on the simple principle that ‘by working together we will achieve more’.

A journey was created by the Council as a way to engage with the workforce and our partners and to explain what Knowsley Better Together is all about.

It takes people through the Council’s journey, and showcases what it has achieved by working together with local communities and partners.

It sets out the Council’s challenges and priorities including improvements and development of housing, retail, leisure and business opportunities as well as improvements to the health and wellbeing of residents, education outcomes, access to jobs and high quality adult social care services.

The Council’s response to funding challenges, while continuing to deliver high quality services to residents, has been recognised by The MJ Awards.

The Council has been shortlisted in the ‘Workforce Transformation’ category for the work on the development and delivery of the journey as an experience for all the workforce.

Award judges recognised the success of the engagement approach of the campaign and how pooling resources and skills has had a positive impact on the borough.

The virtual awards ceremony takes place on Friday 2 October 2020.
