Over 50 apprenticeship vacancies are now live as part of the popular Knowsley Apprentice programme.
Opportunities in trades such as plumbing and plastering, as well as roles in schools and housing organisations are among those available to applicants.
The opportunities are available now as many young people are finishing their full-time education and are considering their next steps.
The Knowsley Apprentice programme enables young people to work, continue their education and earn a wage while doing so.
Apprentices are trained to NVQ level 3 in their chosen subject and many have the opportunity to secure a permanent job at the end of their apprenticeship placement.
Cllr Tony Brennan, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, commented:
“Our Knowsley Apprentice programme offers a great opportunity to help young people to take their first step on the employment ladder.
“It’s a successful programme that has helped thousands of young people into work and supported them while they continue to train and gain further qualifications. And in many cases, an apprenticeship can lead to a permanent job.
“There’s a wide selection of opportunities currently on offer and I would encourage anyone who is leaving education to take a look at the vacancies available on the council’s website.”
