About your business:

“The Market Barber Shop has traded at Kirkby Market since 2014, trading Monday – Saturday.

Our business has grown in this time and we now trade from two stalls (units 131 and 132). We offer dry cuts for Males and Females and have three barbers with over 60 years barbering experience.”

How did you start?

“We’ve been barbers for a combined 43 years – operating mainly in the Kirkby area. I worked for a town centre barber for 6 years before deciding to start the business with my sister Leanne.

“I put my name on the waiting list for stalls in the new Kirkby Market in early 2014 and was called by the Market Manager later that summer when stalls became available. The stall at Kirkby Market was the same price as renting a chair locally so it was a no brainer for us to start our own business.”

Tell us about your offers:

“The Market Barber Shop offers Dad and Lad cuts for £10 every day, gents’ haircuts for £6 and children for £5. We also offer OAP cuts for £4, all day, every day.”
