Last month, the Council’s Knowsley Works team hosted a successful ‘Meet the Team’ event at Job Centre Plus in Kirkby, providing a direct link between local residents and job opportunities within the borough.
The event saw a strong turnout, with 40 local unemployed residents in attendance. This is a vital first step in supporting local people into employment, with CVs being shared with employers across Knowsley who are actively recruiting, streamlining the process of matching talent with local business needs.
The immediate impact of the event has been promising, with some clients already securing interviews for open positions.
For those not immediately matched to a potential job role, the Knowsley Works team are committed to providing ongoing, personalised assistance.
This support includes continued job search guidance, help with updating CVs, and thorough interview preparation, ensuring every registered client has the tools and confidence to succeed in the competitive job market.
Cllr Tony Brennan, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development commented:

Knowsley Works also provides a free recruitment support to employers across the borough who have vacancies available. This includes advertising vacancies, shortlisting and interviewing applicants.
