Kirkby collaborative of schools celebrate pupils’ achievements

by Jonathan Kearney

Schools across Kirkby will be holding special ceremonies today (Tuesday 29 June) to celebrate the achievements of pupils.

The Kirkby Collaborative of Schools Celebration of Achievement will take place across 15 schools, in what is the eighth annual year of the awards.

The Kirkby Collaborative, which provides educational opportunities to over 5,000 children in Kirkby, is the family of fourteen schools that work in partnership in the town.

Bluebell Park School will also be taking part in the celebrations this year.

Although a single ceremony could not be staged this year due to the ongoing pandemic the schools will host individual celebrations to mark the achievements.

This year the awards will feature the ‘Kirkby Child Award’ for the first time. Each school has nominated one child to receive this prestigious award. The winners of the award will be those who best represent the nine core values of The Kirkby Child:

  • Respectful
  • Honest and truthful
  • Positive attitude
  • Resilient
  • Good communicator
  • Confident
  • Committed and hardworking
  • Aspirational and ambitious
  • Polite
