It’s Carers Week 8 – 14 June

by Cathy Sheel

During Carers Week, we’re coming together to help ‘Make Caring Visible’ and remind carers that support is still available during the Coronavirus crisis.

This year more than ever, people are facing new challenges as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, with many taking on more caring responsibilities for their relatives and friends who are disabled, ill or older and needing support.

Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don’t think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.

Knowsley Carers Centre is offering telephone support during the crisis to carers who live in Knowsley or care for a Knowsley resident. They can be contacted on 0151 549 1412, email enquiries@knowsleycarers.co.uk or visit the Knowsley Carers website

Information about support for carers is also available on our Coronavirus: what you need to know page and the Carers Week website
