Spectacular opening weekend for Prescot’s Imaginarium Bistro

by Gemma Melling

A brand new bistro with a difference officially opened on Friday, 29 November in suitably theatrical style!

Imaginarium Bistro opened in the brand new building on Market Place, next to Prescot Parish Church and celebrated its first weekend in business by setting up its very own ice rink on its Piazza.

On Friday, crowds gathered to enjoy a spectacular programme of entertainment including live music, fire dancers and a colourful community parade. With ice skating and even some snow the event created a true winter wonderland for all the family.

Who are Imaginarium Bistro?

Imaginarium Bistro is the sister company of the Imaginarium Theatre company that many people will be familiar with for their incredible outdoor productions and pop-up Shakespeare performances.

The new Imaginarium Bistro is located just a stone’s throw from the site where Prescot’s Shakespeare North Playhouse is being built. Its aim is to bring creative culture and community spirit to the area which has historically been such a hive of activity in the town.

The Bistro will serve Italian and Mediterranean food with a mix of cocktails and great drinks. But more than this, the Bistro wants to be a place that brings people together through food, drink, events and celebrating good times.
In addition, the Imaginarium Bistro will be bringing an exciting family events programme to the Piazza, hosted in their brand new Story Tent.

Transforming Market Place

Market Place is the final public realm development and the biggest single project of the Prescot Townscape Heritage Initiative, which has to date also repaired and restored 16 historic buildings in the town centre. This transformation has been funded by Knowsley Council and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
