Huyton’s regeneration plans take another step forward

by Jonathan Kearney

Huyton’s regeneration plans take another step forward with the expansion of the food and drink offer in the Village Centre.

Two new eateries are making their final preparations to open their doors shortly in the heart of the village centre.

Both based on Derby Road, Floga will offer Greek cuisine whilst Solasta is a steak house.

Due to open over the coming weeks, these latest new businesses complement the expanding food and drink offer in Huyton Village Centre and supports the emerging night-time economy.

Huyton Village Centre is also home to an array of eateries offering a range of cuisine. There’s Eton Place, El Pueblo, Common, La Vita, Dani’s Diner and The Coffee House, plus there’s Freddy’s ice-cream parlour.

Attracting more businesses into Huyton Village Centre is a key part of Knowsley Council’s ambitious 10 year development plan for Huyton Village Centre and work is well underway on securing a Management Development Partner to accelerate those plans.

Cllr Tony Brennan, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, said: “I’m delighted to welcome both Floga and Solasta to Huyton Village Centre, offering even more choice for residents and visitors.

“We have ambitious development plans for Hutyon and attracting two more businesses into the Village Centre is great news.

“Huyton Village Centre has already benefitted from our Shop Front Improvement Scheme, delivering the contemporary make-over of 14 job fronts which has attracted more businesses into Huyton.

“Our growing food and drink offer has also created employment opportunities for local people too.

“I wish Floga and Solasta every success with their ventures and look forward to visiting them soon.”
