A new place to meet, eat, play and grow has opened its doors in Huyton Village Centre.
Huyton Village Green is a Bowring Park and Golf Course initiative, delivered through OneDay, that brings the best of the park to the high street, with food, drink, growing and a whole host of activities planned in the coming weeks and months, such as urban golf, yoga, baby yoga, dog deli and more.
Huyton Village Green is a green urban regeneration project with food at its heart. A new type of retail and leisure offer that enables communities to save money on food bills, improve their health and wellbeing and reduce food miles by growing and supplying locally.
Huyton Village Green is an important part of Bowring Park and Golf Course’s upcoming Kitchen Garden ecosystem, which will see a number of exciting projects and events come together to create a truly sustainable Borough.
Chloe Clarke, Concept Director at Oneday, said: “We are excited to invite everyone to join us at Huyton Village Green. We are much more than just a coffee shop, we are a new type of retail and leisure offer that enables communities to grow their own future. It offers a place where the whole family can meet and learn through workshops and events that we will be bringing to Huyton Village in the coming months.
“Food is very important to us, so as well as offering freshly prepared sandwiches, salads and cake, we want to show people how to create affordable and healthy meals at home using local produce and even give them tips on how to grow their own.”
Cllr Tony Brennan, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, added: “I’m delighted to welcome Huyton Village Green into the heart of the Village Centre. It’s great to see such a community-focussed offer in Huyton, providing opportunities for people to meet, socialise, learn and grow.
Huyton Village Green is located at Unit 1 Cavendish Walk, Huyton, L36 9YG and it is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am until 6.30pm and Saturday and Sunday from 9amuntil 5pm.
