Huyton Live returns with two festive events

by Gemma Melling

Huyton Live returns to Huyton Village Centre on Friday, 22 November and Friday, 20 December 2019 – and this time there’s a distinctively festive feel!

The November event coincides with the Christmas light switch-on event and there will be food and drink from 12 noon, live entertainment from 4.30pm until 8.30pm and then the Christmas light switch on will be at 6.30pm. Parking in council operated car parks in Huyton will be free from 12pm.

The festive Huyton Live event on 20 December will run from 4.30pm until 8.30m and will include an array of popular street food traders, drinks, live entertainment as well as festive market stalls.

As an extra treat – visit ‘The Garish Sun’ at November’s Huyton Live.

The Garish Sun is a stunning light show display which will be taking over an empty shop unit in Huyton Village from 21-23 November – so why not pop in and see it during Huyton Live?

This ten minute audio-visual journey explores the themes of constellations, space and astral bodies. It uses cutting-edge digital technologies in light and sound and takes its inspiration from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet: “turn him into stars and form a constellation in his image.”

You can view the display on Thursday, 21 November (2pm until 5pm), Friday, 22 November (10am until 9pm) and Saturday, 23 November (10am until 5pm) on Derby Road (in the former Poundworld shop).

Bigger and better than ever

Councillor Graham Morgan, Leader of Knowsley Council, said “I’m delighted that Huyton Live is returning to the village centre for a further two events. Both events promise to be even bigger and better than ever. It’s a great opportunity for family, friends and colleagues to socialise and support this hugely popular family-friendly event.”
