Huyton Live and artisan markets to return over the festive period

by Jonathan Kearney

Two Huyton Live events will take place before Christmas, as part of a packed programme of festive events in Knowsley’s town centres.

The first will coincide with the Christmas lights switch on in Huyton Village Centre on Friday 19 November.

A second festive Huyton Live event will take place on Friday 17 December, with fun, free, family-friendly events taking place every weekend in the lead up to Christmas Day.

The previous Huyton Live event took place at the end of September, with an Oktoberfest theme featuring food and drink stalls and live music.

The return of the event following the disruptions of the pandemic proved popular with attendees.

Artisan and Craft Markets

As with the September event, an artisan and craft market will follow Huyton Live on both mornings (on Saturday 20 November and Saturday 18 December).

Prescot Town Centre will also host an artisan and craft market on the afternoon of Saturday 20 November, meaning visitors and traders could attend both markets if they wish.

The times of the events are as follows:

Huyton Village Centre

Christmas Light Switch On with Huyton Live – Friday, 19 November from 4pm – 9pm (with switch on at 6.30pm)

Artisan and Craft Market – Saturday, 20 November from 11am – 3pm

Huyton Live – Friday 17 December from 4pm – 9pm

Artisan & Craft Market – Saturday 18 December from 11am – 3pm

Prescot Town Centre

Artisan and Craft Market – Saturday 20 November from 4pm – 9pm

Cllr Tony Brennan, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, said: “The return of Huyton Live and the Village Centre’s first ever artisan and craft market proved really popular with attendees. I’m sure it will be the same over the festive period and that visitors to the Prescot market will also look forward to getting in to the festive spirit.”
