Housing development in Kirkby – the facts

by Gemma Melling

In response to misinformation being shared on social media about housing plans being approved on the land south of Cherryfield Drive in Kirkby, Knowsley Council would like to confirm that the application has not been considered at a Planning Committee meeting and no decision has yet been made.

The application includes a significant amount of information and this is still being reviewed by the Council’s Planning Team so a Planning Committee date has not yet been confirmed.

As with any planning application, the Council has carried out a  statutory  public consultation which has included neighbour letters, site notices and a public notice in the Metro newspaper.

Whilst the statutory consultation period has expired, feedback on the proposals can still be made up to when the application is considered at a Planning Committee meeting.

The application reference is 24/00068/FUL and full details of the application can be found on the Council’s Planning Public Access website here, where you can also make comments and register for updates on when the application will be presented to Planning Committee by tracking the application.
